This is a large species native to the eastern Spanish coast and comes in multiple locality color forms. This form, which is the dominant and possibly sole form present in the hobby, is believed to have been derived entirely from specimens collected from rocky outcrops in Serra de Bernia. Unfortunately, the founding population is believed to have either been extirpated or is severely at risk due to human encroachment and construction activities.
Like other giant Porcellio species from Spain, this species thrives in well-ventilated and drier environments. It is important to note that larger specimens may quickly perish in overly moist substrate or stagnant air conditions, so it is essential to avoid overwatering the culture.
