Heteronotia binoei (Bynoe's gecko)

This is a small, terrestrial, insectivorous, nocturnal gecko endemic to Australia. Both sexually reproducing and parthenogenetic races of this species exist, with hobby animals being predominantly parthenogenetic.

Captive care is straightforward. They require no special lighting (though there is nothing wrong with providing UVB access); however, they require dry conditions and temperatures in the upper 70s to mid-80s (°F), with the ability to access a hot spot of 90-100°F. A portion of the enclosure should be lightly sprayed once or more per week, depending on ventilation conditions. They do well when kept in groups, provided there is sufficient space. When feeding insects, feeders should be gutloaded and dusted with reptile vitamin supplements, including calcium and vitamin D.
