Heteropoda davidbowie is a species of medium-sized huntsman spider described in 2008. They are found in southern Thailand, western Malaysia, Singapore, and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The specific species epithet, davidbowie, is in honor of the musician David Bowie due to the resemblance of the frontal view of the face and head of the spider to face paint often worn by David Bowie during early performances.
