This species is also erroneously labeled Linothele megatheloides within the hobby, however comparison of the spermatheca of hobby specimens to the illustration in Paz & Raven, 1990 indicates that they are not conspecific. Based on the locality and description in Dupérré, Tapia & Bond, 2023, the hobby specimens most closely align with L. sericata.
